Three words every guide uses.
- Strip
- One input: a microphone, a game, a browser, a music player or a virtual cable. Every strip has a fader, mute, solo and a meter.
- Bus
- An output that mixes the strips sent to it. A buses (A1, A2…) feed hardware such as headphones. B buses (B1, B2…) feed virtual devices that other apps can record from.
- Cable
- A virtual audio device. Windows lists each cable as a speaker and a microphone. Apps play into it, or record from it. Four are free.
